This is one of the poster advertisements of a campaign against drink-driving to warn people about the consequences of their actions. A persuasive technique used in this poster is the fear-arousing effect.
The caption "How much will your next round cost you?" is straight forward, yet thought provoking. The consequences stated on each of the 4 bottles would arouse a degree of fear in people – especially drink drivers.
However, unlike some other persuasive advertisements, it does not contain disturbing images, which prevents adverse effects from happening such as people tuning out to the message. Therefore, this is an effective persuasive poster which would leave an impression on viewers.
